Account information such as your name, email address, and login identifiers from Google or other OAuth providers.
Media files, audio, video, or caption text you upload to create transcripts, translations, or edits.
Technical and usage data like browser type, device, IP address, and interaction logs to improve performance and ensure security.
Billing and payment details processed securely through trusted partners such as Stripe (we do not store full credit card numbers).

2. How We Use Your Data

We process your information only to deliver Cliptap services and maintain product quality — never for resale or third-party advertising.

Run AI-powered transcription, translation, and speaker separation workflows in our secure compute environment.
Provide dashboards, subtitle editors, and file exports to help you manage and share your media projects.
Send account notices, payment confirmations, and product updates relevant to your use of Cliptap.
Detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, or technical issues that might affect service reliability.

3. Cookies & Analytics

Cliptap uses lightweight tracking only where necessary for functionality, performance, and anonymous analytics.

Essential cookies keep you signed in and help secure account sessions.
Anonymous analytics (e.g., Google Analytics or PostHog) allow us to understand feature usage without identifying individual users.

You remain in control of your data and can manage or delete it at any time.

Access, correct, or delete your account information from account settings or by contacting support@cliptap.ai.
Request deletion of uploaded files or transcripts — we permanently remove them within 30 days.
Export your captions, transcripts, or billing records at any time from your dashboard.
If you are located in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA to access, restrict, or object to data processing.

6. AI & Data Processing

Cliptap relies on AI models to process speech and translation, but your data remains private and never used for external model training.

Uploaded files are processed by automatic speech recognition and translation models solely to generate your requested results.
Temporary computation data is deleted after processing unless you choose to save the results.
We do not use user data to train or improve any third-party AI models.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your information only as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations.

Project files and transcripts are retained while your account is active.
Inactive accounts are automatically purged after 12 months of inactivity.
Backups are securely isolated and deleted on a rolling basis.
